Have You Upgraded To A 4K TV Yet?

If you have spent any time on our website at 4KAdvice.com then you know by now what 4K UHD is and what it means.  If not, click on this link and be taken to our “4K SCHOOL“….to quickly learn about it.  4K school

Basically 4K Ultra HD TVs are the latest enhancement to our Televisions.  They contain FOUR times as many pixels in its resolution than a 1080 HD TV.

This means the picture image that you watch is exceptionally REAL looking and True-To-Life.  Especially because 4K TVs now have HDR-  High Dynamic Range.

HDR has to do with the color gamut.  HDR allows the image to perfectly match whatever it captured by camera as far as colors go.

Prior to HDR, the picture was limited to a color gamut of white thru black.  Trust us,…if you are still confused just know that HDR along with 4K resolution is what gives us the most exciting, stunning & vibrant images this world has ever seen.

Today, HDR comes standard on every 4K Television.

No exaggeration either, when you watch a real, native 4K movie or show for the first time on a 4K UHD TV you will see exactly what we mean.  It is almost too real to believe.

You Should Upgrade To A 4K UHD Television For Several Reasons:

  1.   Prices have dropped significantly over the past few years.  The cost of a 4K Ultra HD TV is nearly the same as the cost for a new 1080 HD TV.  Manufacturers said they did this on purpose over the past year.  They want more consumers upgrading to 4K and NOT buying another 1080 HD TV.
  2. 4K TVs are NOT new anymore.  They have been around since 2013-2014.  All the kinks and quirks have been worked out and 4K TVs are perfectly made.
  3. There is a HUGE selection of 4K UHD TVs.  Every manufacturers and brand makes a good 4K TV.  They all follow specifications and requirements that they themselves as a group created.  This helps to increase competition and quality of these TVs.
  4. Prices are not getting any lower.  They are now at consumer expectations.
  5. You don’t just watch 4K content.  A 4K TV upscales any 720 or 1080 High Definition film being played on it.  This means basically everything you watch is going to be much, much better than 1080 HD.  Although, not everything will be the best of the best in 4K. what is Ultra HD 4K TV
  6. Plenty of 4K content.  More and more released every day.  Numerous streaming apps allow you to watch an endless amount of 4K movies and shows.
  7. 4K UHD TV contain FOUR times as many pixels as 1080 HD.  It makes a huge difference in the picture image.  Therefore, this 4K technology is no minor enhancement to televisions.  It is bigtime and will last at least 20 years.
  8. Online Shopping has taken over.  Brick & Mortar stores are closing left and right.  This is because Amazon.com offers lower prices on 4K TVs and a larger selection.  Best of all they have FREE, guaranteed, safe shipping within 2 days.  Very convenient and avoid annoying sales people.

Your 720 or  1080 HD TV is not going to last forever.  It will break down eventually and you will need to buy another television.

Do Not Buy Another 1080 HD TV!

When this happens,…bookmark our site www.4KADVICE.com and come back to us to learn more about these Ultra HD 4K TVs.  We are here to educate you about 4K technology so that you can make the right informed purchase decision.

Televisions are BIG purchases in one’s life.  You have homes & cars that are big expenditures.  Although a big drop down in price from a car,… Televisions are still a  big chunk of money.

Plus, you watch them every day and every night all year long.  We rely on our Televisions to unwind and de-stress.  We share countless memories with friends and family watching terrific movies and TV shows.

Therefore, you want to make the right decision for you and your family.

Do not make the mistake of buying another 1080 HD TV just because that is all that you know.  If you spend any amount of time watching television, the news, sporting events, movies or TV shows…you deserve to have the best of the best.  4K is that.

4K is replacing 1080 High Definition televisions just like HD replaced SD- Standard Definition back in year 2000.  HD has lasted more than 17 years.

It is now time for a better, more enhanced picture image and that is exactly what Ultra HD is. 4K UHD Netflix

Manufactures settled on the label “4K Ultra HD“.  This is primarily what you will see on boxes and on shelves in the store, as well as online advertisements.

They simply added “ULTRA” to the “High Definition” label because there is an Ultra amount of pixels in its resolution.

To be exact, there are FOUR times as many pixels in a 4K than there are in a 1080 HD.  That is over 8 million separate pixels in a 4K display.

This is what makes the picture image look so stunning and real.  HDR – High Dynamic Range combined with the 4K resolution produces the greatest images of all time.

You can have this right in your family room today at modest cost.

There is no more reasons to hold off on upgrading to a 4K UHD TV.  If there were, we would be honest and tell you.

Our job is to educate you about 4K and provide you the latest information and updates.  After listing all of the reasons above to buy 4K, you should be equipped enough now to begin your shopping.  4K TV

We highly recommend buying your first 4K TV at Amazon online.  We bought our first Sony 4K UHD TV on Amazon back in 2014 and this was the best decision that we made.

Not only did we save over $400, but it was extremely convenient.  I have a bad shoulder and cannot lift anything.

Therefore we utilized Amazon FREE , 2-day shipping which is guaranteed and safe.

It was delivered on time right to our front porch.  We even asked the delivery men to bring it inside and unbox it.  They willingly accomplished this.

Our entire experience with Amazon really shocked us.  Who would have ever thought that consumers would be doing the majority of their shopping online in the palm of their hand (smart phone)

But, this is exactly what is happening world-wide.  Consumers are shopping online more than ever before.   This is because it is convenient and cheaper than going into a store to shop.

Big stores have big expenses, whereas online stores do not.  The savings are usually passed on to the consumer.  This includes the bigger fragile items like 4K TVs.

Do you have any questions or concerns? If so, PLEASE COMMENT below and we will respond.

You cannot blame your delay on price or lack of 4K content because both of these are no longer an issue.

A few years ago, these were legitimate excuses to NOT upgrade to a 4K TV.  But, this is no longer the case.  There is so much 4K content that it would keep you busy all year long.  UHD 4K TV

You can stream 4K movies and TV shows on Netflix or Amazon Video for just a few bucks more per month than the standard membership without UHD films.  It is well worth it.  We spend most of our time streaming 4K films.

This is not slowing down either.  4K is taking the world by storm.  Producers are making movies using 4K camera systems giving us the best of the best real and native 4K content.

By year 2020 it is predicted that every single household in the United States will own at least one 4K UHD TV.  So, get on board NOW and start enjoying this True-To-Life Television.

More and more older HD movies are being UPSCALED to fill pixels and increase the quality of the resolution above its original format of 720 or 1080 HD.

These UPSCALED films are far better than 1080 HD.  But, they are not as good as full 4K UHD.

4K TV Smart

This is good to know so that you are not disappointed in your new 4K TV when the picture image is not as good as you think it should be.

If this is the case, this is because you are watching a film that was UPSCALED.  It was not originally filmed using 4K resolution cameras.

Instead, it was filmed using 2K cameras and then digitally enhanced to later be labeled “4K UHD”.  When in fact they are not real 4K.

This is the key to knowing how good the 4K picture image will be.  Did producers film the movie using 4K resolution cameras?

You can learn a lot more about REAL or FAKE 4K movies and TVs shows by clicking the link below.  We provide you a list of movies and shows and tell how they were filmed.

Did they use 2K or 4K cameras?  Today, most movies are done using 4K (3820) resolution cameras.

  1. We bought our first Sony 4K TV back in 2014. Unfortunately it does not have HDR since that was not out at the time. But, today all 4K TVs contain HDR and it makes the picture look stunningly real! You should at least watch a demo.

  2. The reasons in this Post make good sense. For my 2nd television I will buy a smaller one but it will have HDR.!

  3. WHAT DO YOU THINK? DO YOU WANT TO BUY A 4K TV OR IS YOUR 1080 HD TV WORKING JUST FINE?
LET US KNOW HERE BY COMMENTING IN THIS SECTION. WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU.

  4. Hi, you have a lot of good information here. I’m familiar with 4K technology but hadn’t heard of HDR so that was something I just learned about. I also wasn’t aware of how much 4K content there was so thanks for all the information.

I do agree it’s definitely the next upgrade to TV technology and it would be foolish to not take advantage of it and buy outdated technology. Great article.

    1. Hi Andy, we do appreciate your comment and engaging in our article with discussion.  You have supported our site http://www.4KADVICE.com by doing so.  Thank You.  You can help us further by sharing our Posts and site with others.  Our goal is to help educate people about this newer 4K technology in order that they be able to make better, more informed purchase decisions when they go to buy another TV or any other device.

HDR is very new…like just within a year ago.  But, it is a major feature when it comes to 4K TVs now.  All 4K TVs contain HDR if built within past year.  The specifications that manufacturers and the industry people come up with for televisions now include HDR.  This makes the colors that you see more real and true-to-life than prior to HDR.  This is what really makes the picture image look so real. Both 4K and HDR together is simply stunning to watch.

4K is replacing HD just like HD replaced SD- Standard Definition about 17 years ago.  We believe 4K will be around for at least another 20 years.  Prices are right and in line with what you would pay for a new 1080 HD.  Prices have dropped because they want more consumers upgrading to 4K, the TVs they are currently building, instead of  buying another 1080 HD TV.

Yes, there is plenty of 4K content to watch these days. This was not the case a few years ago, but more and more is getting released every day.  Thanks again and below are a few more Posts that might interest you. -Matt B.

HOW IMPORTANT IS “HDR” ON A 4K TV?

      DON’T BELIEVE US ABOUT 4K ?

THE BEST SONY 4K ULTRA HD TV

DONT WAIT FOR MORE 4K CONTENT!

  5. Thank you for the great read!

TV’s are essential for me as I am a hardcore gamer.
I was very unsure why I should bother with a 4 k TV.
But after reading your article you have certainly given me more insight. Is there any specific brand that you would recommend?

    1. Thanks! We recommend Sony, mainly because they were the first to pioneer the 4K technology. Probably because they had the most funds for research.

Although Samsung, LG and Vizio are all close to the same quality.  Many people do not know this but all TV manufacturers get most of the same components that make up any TV from the same only 1-2 companies.  This means most TV are really the same quality. The main difference is in the “name” and in the layouts and dashboard designs and TV apps its offers.

I am major GAMER too and I play PS 3 games through my SONY.  Its called Play Station NOw.  I don’t even have a console. But, I cant play PS 4 games, so that sucks. It does not offer PS 4 streaming games yet.

I prefer X box and they now have a real 4K X Box console for the first time.  Playing 4K games on a 4K TV is stunning and incredible.  The games and graphics look so real and true-to-life that it is hard to believe what you are seeing.  It makes it more fun and exciting.

As you know, ALL 4K TVs do what is called UPSCALING OR UPCONVERTING. This means they automatically digitally enhance any 720 or 1080 HD picture image up to a higher pixel resolution by filling in the more pixels that 4K UHD provides.  It is NOT real, full, or native 4K, but it upscales to somewhere in between the original format of 1080 HD, say, and 4K- 4,000 vertical pixels.

Bascially, they took FOUR tiny little pixels in a 4K TV and squeezed them into the size of what would be equal to only ONE pixel in a 1080 HD TV.  This means that the picture quality is really FOUR times better overall quality and realness than a 1080 HD. It makes a HUGE difference when watching.

So, if playing any game with any console on a 4K TV its ALSO going to UPSCALE your graphics and picture image just like it does a 1080 HD film, movie, TV show.  It will look far more awesome than playing same game on a 1080 HD TV.

The only thing that would be better is buying the X BOX 4K console which has games that are real, native 4K games and playing them on your 4K TV.  That would be super, super amazing and better than any upscaling.  But, upscaling is still better than 1080 HD itself.

Here are some posts that explain more and are helpful.  Thanks again!  – Matt B.

1080 HD – WHAT IS UPSCALING?

      REAL OR FAKE 4K

HOW IMPORTANT IS “HDR” ON A 4K TV?

  6. Hi there I’m wondering if you could help me out, I’m looking for a new TV and obviously 4k is pretty much the best you can buy right now, but I use it mostly for playing my xbox. but I’m not sure if I can still run 1080hp on the 4k TV’s? or will my xbox just not be compatible? cheers 🙂

    1. Hey Mark, First THANKS for coming to our site and reading our Posts, then commenting which supports us moving forward. We are here to help provide helpful information to people like you about this newer 4K UHD technology.

GREAT QUESTION ABOUT X BOX.  I play my X BOX on my Sony 4K 65-inch TV and it looks absolutely amazing. However, it would look even better if I bought the new X BOX S console which is an actual 4K consoled. The first of its kind.

It is true that if you have any 4K TV and only use an older NON-4K capable X BOX that you will be limited to only HD.  Well, that is not exactly true. The news is better.

You see, ALL 4K TVs today do what is called UPSCALING or UPCONVERTING and they also contain HDR- high Dynamic Range which has to do with color. Prior to HDR the reproducing the colors was limited.  With HDR, there is no limit and the colors are perfectly matched with whatever was recorded by the camera or whatever colors were intended to be shown exactly by the video game-maker in your case.

So, UPSCALING means that your 4K TV will automatically take any HD picture image or game (it has to be minimum 720 or 1080 HD to work—which 99% of all games are so you are good) and it digitally enhances the picture image quality to higher than its original format of 720 or 1080 HD. Now, it CANNOT enhance to full 4K Ultra HD, but it is somewhere in between like 2500 vertical pixel.  1080 HD to about 2500 then up to 3820 which is technically what “4K” resolution is.

So, no matter what…if you play your X BOX (none 4K capable X Box) on ANY 4K UHD TV…the image will look significantly better than on a NON 4K TV.

If you upgrade to the XBOX S – 4K Xbox and play on a 4K TV then you will get he absolute best, most amazing picture image and graphics that you have ever seen.  This is what I plan to do but they are about $300.

Currently, I play Sony PlayStation on my SOny 4K because its all streamed.  I have no console.  But, the games are limited to PS 3 and not PS 4 yet.  However, I would much rather play X BOX than PS.  Hope that answers your questions?

And, yes, you can run any 1080 HD or 720 HD image on your new 4K TV and it will also be UPSCALED along with any games automatically.  It just wont look as good as real, or native 4K filmed (with 4K resolution camera) image.

This posts help explain upscaling and real or fake 4K movies and shows.

This is actually what 4K TVs are best at.  They ALL UPSCALE any HD film or game.  Its not going to be full 4K image and the best of 4K…that requires the film or game to be vigin or native 4K which means filmed using 4K cameras versus 2K or HD cameras. More and more producers are using 4K cameras today so it is only getting better.  Soon, it will ALL be 4K cameras and ALL 4K UHD real, full, and native 4K to watch and play.

1080 HD – WHAT IS UPSCALING?

      REAL OR FAKE 4K

  7. This is a really great site on buying a 4k TV. In fact, I also own one to it is an LG and it is really cool. There is a lot of information about having one and it is very detailed. I also liked it how it is neatly ordered when it comes to buying the TV. So far this is a really nice website.

    1. Well thank you for the compliments.  We are trying to help give people accurate and helpful information when it comes to this newer 4K technology so they can make the right purchase decisions and be informed BEFORE they buy another TV or device.  4K is awesome and LG is one of the best.

I am sure you know, but check out this other Post about REAL OR FAKE 4K.  There is a difference between a real, native 4K film and one that has only been UPSCALED from 1080 HD.  There is a big difference in the quality of the picture image. But, at least you will know what you are watching on your 4K TV.

You can search for various movies and TV shows in this database I provide through the link below. Very helpful also!

      Thanks Again, Matt B.

      REAL OR FAKE 4K

  8. Great article it is very informative! I have a 4k tv and the picture is nice but it doesn’t look as nice as it does in the store. Do you know why? Do you think it is because the filming was upscaled and not filmed in 4k as you suggested? Does the program that I am watching have to be a 4k program? Does the brand of 4k tv make a huge difference in the picture that you get? You stated that there is a lot of 4k content available but do you just mean for streaming because with my tv service I see a few movies in 4k but no networks are currently broadcasting it. Well thanks for the info I will bookmark your page and check it out before I purchase my next tv because it will definitely be 4k!

Or, you can click on our Ads on the RIGHT SIDE of our site http://www.4KADVICE.com.

Yes, I can guess why your picture is not as nice.  IN the store they were most likely playing a real, native 4K movie or show on a 4K TV.  There is a big difference.  Some movies might be labeled “4K” but really they were just UPSCALED or UPCONVERTED…which is better than a 1080 HD image, but not as good a real, full 4K.

It all has to do with how the film, movie or TV show was made.  Did they use 2K cameras or 4K resolution cameras.  If 2K they are only 1080 HD.  IF 4K then they are real, 4K films and the best picture image you will see on your 4K camera.

This site link will help you very much. It shows you all the movies and films and which ones are real and native 4K and which ones are only UPscaled from 2K or 1080 HD and then labeled “4K”.  It is a tricky situation and you are not alone in being disappointed.

So, if you are ever wondering why the picture image on your 4K TV is not as good as you think….ALWAYS find out what type of movie, show or film it is and how it was filmed or mastered.  Was it filmed with real, 4K cameras, or not.

Your TV also does what is called UPSCALING.  It takes any 1080  HD minimum image and upscales it automatically.  However, this is not real, full , native 4K either and wont be as good as native 4K like you might think it should be.  But, now you know the differences.

You are right, the film was upscaled and is not real, native 4K :(.  Soon, more and more networks will be putting our shows that were filmed with 4K cameras.  Netflix and Amazon EACH have over 40 separate series that they produced themselves.  MOST Of them were done in real, 4K using 4K cameras. This will become the norm so it will only get better.  You have great questions!

The brand does not make a big difference since most components of any 4K all come from the same 1-2 companies in Japan or China.  Its the name brand that you actually are paying for.  For example, VIZIO use to be one of those knock-off brands, cheaper ones many years ago. Today, it is a fantastic brand up there with Samsung and Sony.  This is because all of these TVs are basically the same quality with different dashboards and layouts.

Sony was first to pioneer 4K technology because they probably had the most money to fund it.  They might have an edge over other brands which is why we recommend them.  We bought our first 4K SONY on Amazon in 2014. We love itl

What is your brand and does it have HDR- High Dynamic Range. This has to do with color and makes a big difference in how real the picture image looks.

Yes, I mainly mean with STREAMING or with 4K ULtra HD Blu-Ray movie discs which will give you the absolute best, most amazing picture out of all 4K content. But, you need a 4K UHD Blu-ray player.  They are about $200-$300 on Amazon right now but prices will drop soon.

Do not confuse a Blu_Ray Player that only does “4K upscaling”.  These are not the same and are not real 4K UHD blu ray players.  It will say on the box.  Same issue with the upscaling 1080 HD films versus showing films that were actually made with real 4K resolution cameras.

More and more networks will be broadcasting in 4K as time passes.  But, unfortunately we were told it will take a few  years.  Slowly more and more are doing so. History channel has been broadcasting series in 4K.

  10. Matthew,
Thanks for this great post that thoroughly answers the question WHY SHOULD I BUY A 4K TV?
As I read I was amazed at how far television technology has come. With streaming technologies all battling for your eyeballs attention, it is almost like the old Coke and Pepsi wars.

    In today’s world with so many of our personal devices connecting to the WWW, gathering data on us my biggest concern would be;
How does 4K TV affect our home security if at all?

You know all the Google and Amazon helper devices in your home will collect more data than they ever give out. Data is the New Gold!

For folks wanting to go 4K your suggestion to go through Amazon is great advice. Amazon stands behind almost everything and can save you money a lot of the time too.

Thanks for the great read and information. I also checked out your 4K School and appreciated the info on the new HDR format with its 3 mutations.
    Thanks again,

Mostly our goal is to educate people about this newer 4K UHD technology so they can make informed purchase decisions next time they go to buy a television or device.

You are so right, TV has come very far. I am sure you remember those huge, ugly TUBE BOX TVs that took about 3 grown men to move a larger one.  There was NO hanging that sucker on the wall or over a fire place!  The picture image of analog and Standard Definition (SD) was terrible now looking back.

But, that was all we had for such a long time.  Decades and Decades we were watching these tube boxes, but households were loving it.  You could bring other environments into your family room, watch movies and shows while making memories.

TV watching will always be around. With 4K resolution it has been made better than ever. The picture image on a 4K UHD TV is so real and true-to-life that it is like you are there on the scene.  With HDR being added and the colors being able to match whatever is being recorded with the 4K resolution camera….we are in for a real ‘treat’ and surprise as we watch these new TVs.

4K is replacing HD just like HD replaced SD- Standard Definition about 17 years ago. 4K is here to stay for at least another 20 years so upgrading to a 4K TV is a wise move today.  Thanks again.

  12. I have been looking for a 4K TV for a very long time as I have heard from my friends that it will really make the content you watch much more detailed and engaging.

I’ve got a question though. If you’re watching a 720p or 1080p, you’ve mentioned that it will scale up to 4K, doesn’t that mean it will lose in resolution as it is a digital interpolation?
Thanks and really convinced me that 4K TVs are the TVs of the future and I should be getting it for my next television!

    1. Hello there, yes that is great that you are thinking about upgrading to a 4K Ultra HD TV.  Please read our Posts and learn all that you can.  Today, if you buy a 4K TV it will be SMART.  ANd, it will come with HDR – high dynamic range.

HDR means that they can reproduce any color without limits.  HDR goes along with 4K resolution and makes the best, most real and true-to-lie picture image that you will ever see!  Its amazing how real it is.

ALL 4K TVs do UPSCALING.  This means it digitally enhances the image to fill more pixels with data nd information like color, contrast, depth and sharpness.  It will take a 720 or 1080 HD film and spread the pixels out and fill in all of the extra pixels found in a 4K TV. This, in turn somehow make the upscaled image appear to be much better than the original form of 720 and 1080 HD.

But, an upscaled image is NOT as good as full, or real native 4K image.  To get a real, native 4K image the film would have needed to be made using 4K resolution cameras.  Then it looks the best our of all 4K content.

  13. It’s so painful to hear that the 4K TVs now are the same price as the 1080p TVs. I think about what I paid for my 1080 TV 7 years ago and it’s about double what these 4K TVs are going for now. One of the things that has me concerned for moving to 4K is the availability of 4K content from my “cable” provider. What is the status of 4K content from providers like Verizon or Comcast (or similar companies I suppose)? Looking forward to a new 4K UHD HDR TV someday!

    1. Hi Neil,  I totally feel your pain.  We bought our first Sony 4K TV in 2014.  We paid a steep price because this 4k technology was brand new at the time.  It came out in about 2013.  For the same exact TV today, it costs LESS THAN half of what we paid for it in 2014  (2014:  2,790;  Today 2017 $1,300).  Its a large 65-inch Ultra HD Sony and we love it, but it cost a lot.

Yes, nowadays 4K TVs are about the same as 1080 HD TVs…which is good for consumers and more people will upgrade to 4K and stop buying 1080 HD TV because it does not make sense.

More and more 4K content is being released every day. To watch the most 4K, which is what we do, you need to stream from companies like Netflix, Amazon Video, Hulu or YouTube.  They all offer tons of 4K films.

Or, you can buy a 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray player and watch 4K UHD movies…these are the best of the best 4K content to watch (Blu-ray).  The image just blows your mind how real and true-to-life it is.  Its like you are there live in person using your own eyes.  Amazing and well worth the money.

Networks have been slower to broadcast in 4K, but more are doing so every month.  History channel has shows in 4K and lots of other sporting events.  You would not know if you didn’t have a 4K TV, b/c in that case you would only see the resolution of your TV (1080 HD).

Soon, everyone will own a 4K TV and most shown on network TV will be in 4K.

4K is replacing HD just like HD replaced Standard Definition and analog about 17 years ago.  The same exact thing is happening with 4K but it takes a few years for the changeover.  Thanks for commenting.  – Matt Bronowicz

  14. Great page!

I feel like your page has a great review and adive about TV. Now, myself would not spend a lot of money on a tv because I don’t sit in front of one.

I like being outside. Though I would spend more on a computer. Simply because I can work on it.

Great work for this site. Thanks!

    1. Hi Josh, that makes sense that you don’t watch much TV so why would you spend a lot of money to buy one. I totally agree.  On the flip side, this newer 4 technology does not STOP at televisions.  Basically anything that has a display containing a resolution and pixels…has been effected by 4K Ultra HD in a good way.

There are now 4K laptops with 4K screens as well as PC with awesome 4K monitors.  WIth these you can still stream 4K content through places like Netflix and Amazon.

  15. I have been searching for some articles on 4K TVs. This article regarding Why Should I Buy A 4K TV helps me a lot.

Yes, prices of 4K TVs have dropped significantly over the past few years. Now, when I clicked the link to Amazon in your article, it showed that the prices are more competitive. It is more or less the same as a 1080 TV. So, why not buy?

Besides, after a few years of development, it seems that the technology is mature enough for me to buy one without hesitation. I will follow your recommendation and buy one from Amazon. Thanks.

    1. HI Nico – Thanks for commenting on our Post and supporting our site http://www.4KADVICE.com in this way.  Please help us further by sharing our site with others so that we can reach more people and educate them about 4K too.

Yes, 4K is not so new anymore.  It has been on shelves for nearly 5 years now, so they have perfected this 4K Ultra HD technology.  Especially when they added the feature of HDR – High Dynamic Range.  All 4K TV now have HDR which means that the display has no limits as to the colors it can reproduce to match whatever the camera captured.  HDR is amazing and working together with the high resolution UHD TV, it makes the picture image the most real and true-to-life that this world has ever seen.

Thanks for using our Amazon links and Amazon will save you the most money just like it saved us $400 when we bought our first Sony 4K UHD on Amazon.  Good Luck Shopping and Thanks again for supporting our informative site.  – Matt B.

  16. Do you know if I can get a Samsung 4k in a 46″ Our HD went out and I could swear that was the size but can’t find it. I want to purchase an HD again but my husband is pushing to get the 4k.

After reading your post I think he is probably right although I hate to admit that! LOL

I will have to swallow my pride and go with him on this one.

    1. Great Question!  No, I do not believe anyone makes a 46 inch for a 4K Ultra HD TV.  Either you have to go a bit smaller to 42 inches or up to 49 inches.  4k resolution works best the larger the display screen is.  But, if you want as close to 42 inch, your best bet is jumping up to 49 inches.

The good thing is that the price is not much different from 42 inche 4K. And, prices are the same on a 4K TV as they are on a 1080 HD TV.  Prices have dropped and this has been done on purpose because manufacturers want consumers upgrading to 4K TVs and not buying another 1080 HD.  This benefits you and me most.

We recommend shopping on Amazon since they have the lowest prices. We saved $400 by purchasing our first Sony 4K UHD on Amazon and it was safely delivered for free within 2 days to our home.

Good Luck and please use any of our Amazon links on RIGHT SIDE of this site http://www.4KADVICE.com or bottom FOOTER.  Then, go shop and compare 4K TVs on Amazon and make the right purchase. We wish you the best. – Matt B.

1080 HD – WHAT IS UPSCALING?

  17. It’s nice to be able to get this much information in one place. Each time I decide to upgrade, I like to make sure I am keeping up with the changes, but not spending too much money doing it. I am going to do some more reading here, but wanted to thank you for what I see so far.

    1. Hi Bert – I agree that research is imperative before buying another TV or any other expensive device.  Televisions are big purchases in one’s life next to homes and cars.  It cost a lot to buy a good TV that we are going to watch for 4-7 years.

The good thing about 4K Ultra HD is that it is NOT so new anymore.  They have been on shelves now for nearly 5 years.  However, still many consumer do not know what it is.

What is great is that prices for a 4K TV are way down.  They are nearly equal to what you would pay for a new 1080 HD TV.  Merchants want people upgrading to 4K TVs and NOT buying another 1080 HD because it does not make sense.

4K is simply incredible technology.  The picture image on a 4K UHD is the best this world has ever seen.  It looks so real and true-to-life that it is hard to believe what you are seeing.  Go and check out a 4K demo at a store to see it for yourself.  Then, shop on Amazon using our Amazon links throughout this site.  Amazon will save you the most money and give you the largest selection.  Thanks for commenting, Matt B.

      WHY SHOULD I BUY A 4K TV?

  18. I am getting ready to purchase a new Samsung. Do you know if the 4k comes in a 46″ ? I am almost positive that is what we had but cannot find one in that size. I really wanted to just get an HD but my husband is pushing me to get the 4k. Thanks for the great info.

    1. Hi Teresa! Thanks for coming to our site and commenting. We hope we can be helpful to you. Well, your husband is very right in that you should NOT buy another HD TV. Mainly because 4K Ultra HD TV have dropped in price to the point where they are priced just about the same as any 1080 HD TV. 4K picture is FOUR times better in quality overall than 10080 HD. 4K UHD is replacing HD, just like HD replaced Standard Definition 17 years ago. Its the way of the future and you will be glad once you upgrade to 4K because it is stunning to watch anything on it.
With that said, 4K TV are generally better the bigger the display is. I believe they start making them at a minimum of 42 inches.

The best place to buy and shop for a new 4K TV is Amazon. They have the largest selection and at the lowest prices. You can get some amazing deals and save a lot of money on Amazon. This is what we did. We bought our first SONY 4K TV and saved $400 compared to buying one in the store.

If you click on this link or COPY AND PASTE it into your Top Browser you can see all of the 4K TVs on Amazon. They have 42 inch and 43 inches, but then it mostly jumps up to 49 inches. 49 and above seem to have the most selection of Samsung and other 4K TVs. I did find one 48 inch, but no 46 inches 4k TV for some reason. I believe it is because 4K resolution has so many more pixels than 1080 HD (FOUR TIMES AS MANY TO BE EXACT) that they need a larger display to fit them all. But, you wont regret this. Watching a 4K TV compared to a 1080 HD TV is completely different. The 4K image is amazing, sharp crisp, VERY REAL LOOKING and true-to-life. I hope this helps! – Matt B.
