Did you know that you can build your own theater room for under $1,000? And, it is no typical theater room….it would be state-of-the-art with the most modern 4K Ultra High Definition equipment in it. Many people think that 4K TVs are only for the ultra rich people to buy because they are so expensive. This could NOT be further from the truth.
Perhaps, back in 2013 when this 4K technology first hit the shelves the prices were high. But, this is normal for any new technology. When we first switched over to the flat panel High Definition (HD) televisions in the early 2000’s the prices were super higher as well. But, within a few years…the cost of a flat panel HD TV had come down to where consumers expected it to be. They became comfortable and affordable prices for HD TVs.
The same has happened with 4K Ultra HD TVs today. They started high in price and since have dropped to a level that consumers are comfortable with. As a matter of fact, manufacturers and merchants have purposely priced 4K TVs at the same exact level as 1080p HD TVs. Yep, that right! You can buy a 4K UHD TV for a similar price as a 1080p HD TV nowadays.
4K TVs are totally replacing 720 & 1080p HD TVs. Eventually, every house-hold will own a 4K TV. Most consumers currently own several 1080p HD TVs. They have one in the family room and bedroom(s). As they get older, the consumer has to consider upgrading their HD TV. Do they buy another 1080p HD TV? Or, do they upgrade to an awesome 4K Ultra HD TV?
Obviously the answer is the latter. If you look around, you will see that all electronics stores are mostly marketing 4K TVs and other 4K equipment. Most of the ads that you see on and off-line consist of 4K Ultra HD TVs. Merchants are not advertising 1080 or 720 HD TVs much anymore because consumers want the latest and greatest TV watching technology.
The latest and greatest TV technology is called 4K Ultra High Definition. The industry added “ULTRA” to the “HD” label because there are an ultra amount of pixels within the resolution. To be exact, there are FOUR times as many vertical pixels in a 4K TV than there are in a 1080 HD TV. Regarding the technology, a 1080 HD TV basically refers to 1,080 vertical pixels in its resolution. This is known as “High Definition”. We are not here to discount High Definition televisions.
HD TVs were incredible when they first came out, because they were so very much better in picture image than Standard Definition (SD) Televisions were. This was a major upgrade at the time. HD flat panel TVs would go on to dominate the market for the next 15 years. Consumers have forgotten about those huge, bulky, deep and heavy tube TV boxes that required 3 grown men to carry. Not to mention the picture image on one of those hideous TV was terrible. It was blurry and un-crisp. Especially when you compare High Definition TVs to Standard Definition TVs.
After 15 years of enjoying HD TVs, manufacturers figured out a way to squeeze FOUR times as many pixels into what would be equal to the size of ONE 1080p HD pixel. This means FOUR times the amount of data flowing through the screen (color, contract, depth, etc.). This also means FOUR times better quality picture image than 1080 HD.
Four times more pixels equates to an amazing picture image that will blow your mind! The picture is so real that its like you are looking through a window at a real live scene in person. A 4K picture is very close to what you would see in real life with your bare naked eyes. You must see for yourself. Go to your local electronics store and request a demo of 4K content on a 4K UHD TV. You will be amazed at how clear, crisp and true-to-life the picture is.
This is what happened to us back in 2014. We saw a 4K demo and were highly impressed. We could not believe how much better it was than 1080 HD, because HD was also amazing. We never thought we would see a better quality picture than 1080 HD when it came out. But, this is exactly what has happened. Never under-estimate technology.
We went online in 2014 to research more about 4K TVs, but found no helpful information. This is when www.4KADVICE.com was born. We saw the need to provide helpful and current information about 4K TVs and other 4K devices in order to help the consumer make an informed purchase decision. Buying a Television is a big investment. Not only is it going to be watched nearly every day for the next 5-7 years, but its a huge chunk of money out of your account. Therefore, we want to help you make the right decision.
DO NOT BUY ANOTHER 1080p HD TV!
Instead, listen to our advice. By using Amazon via our helpful links on 4KADVICE.com you can build yourself a kick-butt theater room with all the newest 4K Ultra HD gear for under $1,000. We are referring to the electronics equipment here. Not necessarily the actual build-out of the walls, seats and room itself. You are on your own with that part .
However, you can convert any room in your house to a theater room. Install darkening shades and paint the walls the color of a movie theater. Also add movie theater curtains down the walls and especially on the front wall surrounding the Television itself. If you are extra handy, you can even add wall lights down the side just like they have in the movie theater.
Even moreso, contact a carpenter…and ask them to build you one or two platforms. Depending on the size of your theater room, place these platforms in the middle and stick a comfortable couch or recliner on top of them. This creates ‘stadium seating’ just like you find in a real movie theater. BAM! You now have your cool theater room to impress your friends and family.
We did this in our home and created an awesome theater room. We changed what was a completely normal downstairs bedroom into a theater. We installed two platforms that were 12 inches high in the middle of the room with a walkway down one side to reach the front area. We then put a couch on one platform and 2 chairs on the other. The platform farthest back is also higher than the front platform. This gives us ‘stadium seating’ and allows the people in the back to have a direct view of the TV. We painted the room a dark color and added theater curtains and small wall lights down the side. All of this was done for cheap. The theater room build-out only cost us about $275.
Now, let’s talk about the equipment you are going to need to stock your theater room. Believe it or not, we have done the research and you can put together a nice top-notch 4K Ultra High Definition TV room for under $1,000. This includes a 4K Television, 4K UHD Blu-Ray Player and even a Sound bar.
You have several different options and configurations of 4K equipment. By this, we mean that you can put a Samsung with a Sony 4K UHD Blu-Ray player, or a Sony TV with a Samsung Blu-ray player. For purposes of this Post, our goal is to show you that you can achieve an entirely new, upgraded, high-tech 4K Ultra High Definition Television setup for under $1K. Prices are down and this is very feasible.
Most name brand 4K equipment is high quality, therefore we are not just recommending a specific brand. Although, we do prefer Sony because they were the first to pioneer this 4K technology,…other manufacturers are just as good like LG, Panasonic, Vizio, Samsung and Toshiba.

2. 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray Player
In order to get the best out of your 4K UHD TV, and we mean the absolute clearest, most crisp picture image possible you will need to watch a native 4K UHD Blu-ray movie or show. Blu-Rays provide the most real true-to-life picture out of all 4K content. But, it needs to be a “4K UHD” Blu-Ray player. There is a difference.
This is a brand new Panasonic 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player. It is reasonably priced and comes with a lot of extra features. Its OK to mis-match name brands. All equipment will flow perfect. All you need is an HDMI 2.0 cord to attach this Blu-Ray player to your 4K LG TV above.

There you have it. You can buy an awesome theater room 4K setup for under $1,000! These two pieces total $945.00.
This even leaves you about $55 to purchase the HDMI 2.0 cords that you will need to connect your player with your TV. Buy an extra one in case you have to connect your cable or satellite box with your TV as well.
Again, these are not the only two brands that you can purchase together to stay within a $1,000 budget while you build out your theater room. There are several other brands that are priced similar to these that would work fine.
Furthermore, the above devices are 2017 new models. If you shop for 2016 models you can save even more. Or, you can purchase an even larger display (60-65-inch) for the same prices as a 2017 model like above.
Amazon is still getting rid of their 2016 model stock making room for all the 2017 models. They have dropped their prices significantly because of this. There is nothing wrong with a 2016 model. It has all the same features as a 2017 model with just as good of a picture image. Save money by purchasing a 2016 model as this is exactly what we would do.
Heck, we own a SONY 65-inch 4K UHD 2014 model and it works incredibly well. We watch 4K movies and shows every night and the picture is just as good as a 2016 or 2017 model. You get our point.
